Season 31

It’s time for another season of Project Run & Play! Season 31 is going to be incredible and we can’t wait to share what the talented designers have created! Our first round is coming next week, but in the meantime, we are going to give you all of the information so that you know who and what to look for!

The six designers competing this season will be introduced below, but here is why we need YOU to participate by VOTING!

To give everyone a little more opportunity to show us their work, there will be no eliminations until the end of the second week. For the first two weeks of competition, the designers will all sew for the theme, and the top 4 scores will advance to the third round. After week 3, one more designer will be eliminated, and the top 3 scores will go into the final round. Our panel of judges and celebrity judges weigh in, as well as counting on the public vote to determine scores each week. One third of the score comes from the panel, the celebrity judge, and the vote, each.

NEW this season, we will also have a bonus prize for our weekly winners for the first three weeks! It’s just a little extra something to reward them for coming in first for those challenges. So your vote helps determine those prize winners as well!

Themes

Choosing themes is so much fun! We are so excited to share what everyone has made!

Week 1: Refashion It! Revamp an old item into something new! The sky’s the limit, or maybe the thrift storeโ€ฆ
Week 2: Preppy Prints. Herringbone, Tweed, Plaid, Argyle. Fall is here, and these classic prints are always in style!
Week 3: Wild Side. Nature has the best inspiration! Let the prints and textures from nature, or anything wild inspire you.
Week 4: Signature Style. Design a look that best represents your own unique style, taste, and sewing skills.

Designers

Our designers have been working hard on their designs for MONTHS! Please click on their names below them a follow to show your support, get sneak peeks of what they are making, and to see all of the details for what they come up with for each of the themes!

Brittnie Landsgard

Hello, I’m Brittnie Landsgard! I’m a Stay at Home-ish Working Mom. I am a Marketing Coach at Iowa’s Best BBQ Restaurant, Whatcha Smokin? BBQ + Brew. When I’m not taking yummy food photos or designing merch, I’m in full on Mom mode. From PTO meetings to sewing my kid’s clothes. I’ve been sewing for over 20 years and love a good challenge. I’m full of sarcasm, function on coffee, sunrise bike rides, doggy cuddles, and family time. I can’t wait for this season of Project Run and Play!

Kayla Stewart

Hi, Iโ€™m Kayla Stewart. I have been sewing for about 23 years. I was taught by my Mother but really progressed in my sewing when my second child, first daughter, was born. I have dabbled in pattern design and have created a couple patterns and helped design some over at Wild Seeds Patterns. Besides sewing, I love collecting fabric, the outdoors, being with my family, making surface pattern designs, thrifting for vintage treasures, and photography.

Kimberly Seegmiller

Hi! I’m Kimberly, and I’m so honored to be a part of this season of Project Run and Play. I grew up in Idaho (USA) as the 7th of 11 children and learned from my mom the importance of being able to make and repair clothing. I loved the challenge of sewing for myself and made two of my high school dance formals. I moved to Utah for college, where I graduated with a Math Education degree as well as met and married my husband, Joe. It’s been twenty years since then and we are still in Utah living our best life with our six children (four boys and two girls). I’ve sewn lots of things for all of my children (especially Halloween costumes), but my youngest currently gets most of my creations. Besides sewing, I also love to embroider, crochet, play the piano, listen to audio books, and garden.

Jennifer Jeremiah of Lifecycle Apparel

Iโ€™m Jennifer, a Michigan sewist and owner of Lifecycle Apparel and The Conscious Cloth, my organic clothing brand and reusables shop. Sustainability and usability is at the core of what I do. My Father-in-Law in India taught me to sew my first stitches on his traditional lungi; and I grew that passion to sew for my familyโ€”and later to make organic, custom clothing more accessible. Over the last decade, Iโ€™ve enjoyed promoting for pattern and fabric companies and designing my own patterns; but the last handful of years has been more concentrated on my shops and homeschooling my 3 girls. Iโ€™m looking forward to Season 31 to let loose and enjoy that full creativity again!

Amanda Parker of OsoBaby Clothing

Hi everyone! Iโ€™m Amanda Parker, and Iโ€™m so excited to be here among such talented creators and can’t wait to learn and grow through this experience! My love for sewing began in early childhood, thanks to my mother. She made everything from Halloween costumes to my wedding veil and passed down her knowledge to me over the years. That early spark grew into a lifelong passion, and today I run a small shop (OsoBaby Clothing) where I offer classic, timeless childrenโ€™s clothing. I love creating pieces that are both beautiful and practical, and Iโ€™m always inspired by the joy that thoughtful, handmade garments can bring. My sewing style leans traditional, and I especially love using vintage fabrics to give pieces a touch of nostalgia and charm. In addition to running my small shop, I also strike sew for a fabric printery and pattern test for five different pattern companies, which constantly creates opportunities for me to learn new techniques and refine my craft. Whether itโ€™s a sweet baby romper or a one-of-a-kind dress, I pour a lot of love and detail into every stitch. Iโ€™m truly honored to be part of this incredible group of designers!

Shyra of aka-yuri

My sewing journey began back in high school, when a home economics class first sparked my interest. That early curiosity lay dormant for a while, but about 13 years ago, the sewing bug struck againโ€”and it hasnโ€™t let go since. Now, sewing is both my creative outlet and my personal joy. I love experimenting with different textures and prints, and my design aesthetic focuses on mixing various fabrics to create unique, eye-catching pieces. Whether Iโ€™m working on something bold or understated, I strive to make every project reflect both artistry and intention. I’m currently residing in Northern Virginia and am a proud mom of two amazing girls, ages 11 and 16, who often inspire and sometimes even model my creations. Sewing is not just something I doโ€”it’s a part of who I am, and I’m excited to share that passion here.
