Hygge Vest

$9.50

From Season 22 of Project Run & Play we are happy to bring you Sarah of Waves and Wild’s Hygge Vest pattern used for her Signature Style look.

Pattern Features:

The Hygge Vest pattern is a bodywarmer/gillet/vest with zip fastening.  Hygge (pronounced hoo-gah) is a Danish concept which encompasses a feeling of cozy contentment and well-being through enjoying the simple things in life.

This is a lined, zipup bodywarmer/gilet/vest designed for thick/warm fabrics. There is an option for a straight or curved hem. You can choose from a high collar or scuba style hood. You can add smart welt pockets and/or ribbed arm cuffs. An overlocker/serger will create the neatest finish, but all options can be made using a regular sewing machine.

Fabric Recommendations:

Main Fabric: Medium – Heavy, warm fabrics. The pattern is designed for woven/non-stretch fabrics such as wool blends, padded nylon, tweed, soft-shell etc. The lining should be a soft, warm fabric such as fleece, sherpa, teddy etc. You can use knit (stretch) fabrics for either the outer or the inner. If you use knit fabrics for both the outer and the inner then your garment will fit a little larger than expected.  If you would like to create your own padded outer fabric, you will need the following amount of a thin outer fabric, warm inner fabric and a padding fabric (fleece or batting).
