Sewalong
The sewalong is BACK and it’s BIGGER than ever! Simply choose one of the themes that inspires you and sew up one outfit ANY time during Season 33. To enter, just post in our Facebook group or tag us on Facebook and/or Instagram so that we can see (and share!) One entry per person.

Get those entries in by 9/30/26 at 11:59pm EST. By entering, you are giving us permission to share your design with our audience. A winner will be announced along with the final Season 33 placements on Friday, 10/2. The sew along is open to international entries.
Themes
If you’re gonna sew with us you need to know the themes!
Week 1: Play Ball!: Be inspired by your favorite sport or athletic activity, and make a look that works off the field!
Week 2: Texture & Trimmings: Piping, lace, fringe, brocade, twill, and more. Take your outfit to the next level by playing with texture!
Week 3: Whimsy to the Max: Childhood magic in fashion form. Make it playful, imaginative, unexpected and joyful!
Week 4: Signature Style. Design a look that best represents your own unique style, taste, and sewing skills.
Which ones inspires you to get sewing?
Judging Criteria
We will choose the sewalong winner with the same criteria that our designers are being judged on!
Overall Look
*Is it a cohesive look? Do the pieces go together?
*Does it have a good overall design aesthetic?
*Styling (accessories, photo shoot, etc)
Creativity
*Did they think outside the box within the confines of the theme?
*Were patterns significantly altered or self drafted?
*Creative use of materials: color combos, different fabrics, techniques, notions, etc
Craftsmanship
*Attention to detail: seams match, no puckers, drag lines, buttons evenly spaced, etc.
*Degree of difficulty in sewing
Wear-ability
*How’s the fit? Any issues—too big, too small, too loose, too tight?
*Is it age appropriate for the intended activity?
*Can the child wear it without being uncomfortable?

Myriam Fournier
Hi, my name is Myriam. I work as a respiratory therapist and I’m the mom of two wonderful little girls. I started sewing nearly eight years ago, but I discovered a true passion for it six years ago. I sew my daughters’ entire wardrobes, and I love adding pieces to my own as well. Aside from sewing, I love hiking, cooking, and reading. You’ll notice, then, that my sewing style is quite sporty and comfortable. I’m also a big fan of color-blocking and adding funky touches to my creations—especially the ones for my children. But I love stepping out of my comfort zone and daring to try new things. That’s why I’m really happy to be part of this contest to push my limits again and again and take on different projects.
Frédérique Morin
My name is Frédérique. I am 34 years old, from Quebec, Canada, and the proud mom of a 16-year-old daughter and an 8-year-old, sports-loving son. I work full-time as a poultry farmer, and in my free time, I enjoy my two greatest passions: sewing and camping. I love creating unique garments, mainly for my son and myself, with a focus on thoughtful details, bold colors, and styles that stand out. Every project is an opportunity to challenge myself and let my creativity shine.
Jennifer
I started sewing as a young girl. My mom taught me. I remember spending days in my room draping fabric on my body to design clothing for myself. Moving to high school, I spent hours on bus rides filling sketchbooks with my dress designs. I even designed my own prom dresses because I felt like the ones in the dress shops all looked the same. I wanted mine to be unique. This continued to be a theme for me as I even designed and sewed my own wedding dress. I had hoped to attend fashion design school post high school, but my passion for running led me to choosing a school for graphic design so I could continue competing in collegiate xc and track. In my adult life, I realized I’m not a huge fan of graphic design, but the desire to make clothing has continued. I started pattern testing around 6 years ago and am enjoying sewing special pieces up for myself and my own daughters, who make up 3 of my 7 children. It’s like I still have realized my dream of being a fashion designer, just on an intimate level and it just fills my heart so much to see my daughters in things I create for them.
