The Madison Oversized Joggers are the ultimate blend of comfort and cool – perfect for everyday adventures, playtime, or lazy days at home!
They feature a modern barrel silhouette, optional color blocking (ideal for using up fabric scraps), an elasticated waist, pleated ankles, huge pockets for treasures, and the choice to add a waist tie.
Designed for heavier, low-stretch knit fabrics such as sweatshirt fleece, the Madison pattern is a great project for confident beginners. It includes sizes Age 2 – Age 12, making it a cozy and stylish staple for kids of all ages.
Fabric recommendations:
Medium weight, 2 way stretch knit fabric such as sweatshirt fleece etc. 5% – 20% stretch is recommended. Fabrics with a greater stretch can be used but will make the final garment feel larger so you may need to size down. This pattern works best with thicker, lower stretch knits.

Elastic: Age 2 up to Age 5: maximum of 49.5cm (19 ó”) of 38mm (1 ó”) wide elastic for the waist
Age 6 up to Age 12: maximum of 62cm (24 ó”) of 50mm (2”) wide elastic for the waist
All sizes: maximum of 56cm (22”) of 25mm (1”) wide elastic for the ankle cuffs

Drawstring Cord: If you are making the drawstring option, you will need a maximum of 100cm (1 ⅛
yards) of drawstring cord. You can also use ribbon or a narrow strip of jersey. The faux drawstring
option requires a maximum of 30cm (12”) drawstring cord.
NOTE: Full drawstring measurements are only given for age 5 and up. Younger sizes should use the faux
drawstring option.
